Report spoof/hoax emails and phishing scams
Important: NAB will never ask you to disclose your password via email. NAB Internet Banking matters will only be communicated electronically via the secure messaging facility within Internet Banking.
- Pause and think – be aware of email, Internet and telephone hoaxes and scams. If you are suspicious call us on 1300 651 656.
- Don't respond to any email or telephone call requesting personal information, even if they appear to have come from NAB. NAB will never ask you to disclose your details in this way.
The Banking industry in Australia – and other organisations around the world – has been subject to various email scams that are designed to compromise customers’ online user credentials or personal information, in order to illegally obtain and transfer funds overseas.
These unsolicited emails are sent in high volumes to random email addresses in the hope that they will find banking customers. These scam emails give the false impression that they have been sent by a real company (such as NAB) with links to a fraudulent website that looks identical to the genuine company website.
NAB is working with other banks, the Australian High Tech Crime Centre (AHTCC) and other external bodies within the industry to stop this fraudulent activity.

- Forward any suspect emails to spoof@nab.com.au including your name and any comments.

- Where possible please forward the entire scam email with full header information – some email clients allow this with an option of sending as an attachment.

- We’ll email you an automated response in 15 minutes to acknowledge your report. This will not address you by name.

- We will investigate every spoof email reported.
