In recognition of the magnitude of the humanitarian disaster in a part of the world where we operate, nabCapital is donating $250,000 to the Red Cross China Sichuan Appeal. This follows NAB's $200,000 donation to the relief effort in Myanmar Burma following the recent cyclone.
The decision to contribute to the relief effort in China is also a tangible show of support for nabCapital business partner at UTI. Its major shareholder, the New Hope Group, has operations in Chengdu which is close to the earthquake's epicentre.
NAB Asia will also be matching the fundraising effort of its employees dollar-for-dollar.
John Hooper, Chief Executive Officer nabCapital said: "Although the sheer scale of these natural disasters may be difficult to comprehend, our contributions both as an organisation and as individuals can make a small but important difference for the people of China and Burma."
